Contemporary Revelations

by Kaden Washburn

What we’ve become is something I’m contemplating

Like the great midnight light, this love is changing

It’s swimming through the darkness, waxing and waning

Old love, like a flame I have trouble maintaining

The inferno would be raging, I can remember

Then, suddenly extinguished, reduced to an ember

After all of this, I cannot condemn her

Imperfection is a club, and we are all members
